eCircle Ltd will strive to provide users of domeus with the most advanced platform for information and communication on the internet. We therefore feel we also have an obligation to protect your personal data. The following points explain in detail our policy regarding the confidential handling of your data.

If you have given your consent when registering with domeus for your personal data to be collected, processed and used for advertising purposes by email (e.g. free offers, special offers, prize draws, newsletters) you will find the wording of your consent here.

Collection of personal information by domeus:

When a user registers with domeus the following information about him/her is collected: Email address, surname, first name, sex, postcode, country, language and date of birth. Data is transmitted to us in unencrypted form.

All these details must be entered. We collect them for legal and technical reasons. In addition they also serve to enable advertising to be sent to specific target groups by the use of banners, email footers or opt-in email marketing provided you have given your consent.

Any other data which you enter in addition in your member profile are optional. domeus undertakes never to send the names or email addresses of users to third parties other than eCircle AG (Germany) without their express consent. The purpose of the remaining demographic information in its aggregated form is to provide advertising directed at target groups. However, individuals� personal information will never under any circumstances be passed to third parties other than eCircle AG (Germany).

You may of course provide a pseudonym by which you would like to addressed when using our service instead of your real first name and surname.

Email-based lists are by their nature in such a form that every person writing a contribution for distribution to those on the list makes their own email address accessible to other members of the list. The archives of some lists can indeed be publicly accessible so that in such cases the relevant email addresses can also be seen.

Visibility of personal information:

The level of visibility of your personal user profile can be set by you:

1. Only the moderator of your list can see the list of members.

2. The group has a list of members which can be seen by any member.

With the exception of the (moderated) lists to which you subscribe, your personal data in your user profile cannot be seen by third parties other than eCircle AG (Germany).

Updating/Deleting personal data; Information:

Users of domeus can update or partially/completely delete their personal data at any time via our web interface. Personal data can be changed by clicking the �Profile� menu tab on our websites. You have a right to information and � under certain circumstances � a right to correct, block or delete your stored personal data.

Log files:

eCircle Ltd will also collect, process and use the following information generated in providing the domeus service and the aforementioned advertising concerning your user behaviour in web log files for advertising purposes and will create user profiles from them, provided you have given your consent: IP address, time and way in which the respective email was opened and pages visited.

We may use cookies on our website. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer as a result of visiting a web site. This allows the site to know that you have visited before and in some cases can be used to record your preferences.

To stop cookies being placed on your terminal equipment refer to your specific internet browser. In a few cases blocking cookies may reduce the functionality of some sites or prevent access to them depending on your chosen browser options. Security measures:

Your personal details are password-protected so that only you have access to their settings. We recommend that you do not reveal your password to anyone else. Please also remember to log off our system when you have finished using the service and to close your browser. In this way you will avoid your information being misused if you share a computer with several people.

Amendments to this statement:

domeus, a division of eCircle Ltd is not currently planning to alter these guidelines. However, if an amendment becomes necessary for technical or other reasons, all domeus users will be informed of this on our homepage.
