From 8 to 10 May 2002, the United Nations General Assembly has convened a Special Session to review achievement of the goals of the 1990 World Summit for Children. The process moved child rights and needs to the top of the world agenda, bringing together government leaders, Heads of State, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), children's advocates and young people. This email list aims to (1) increase awareness, participation and active involvement in the preparatory process and the Special Session, (2) provide information that is relevant to specific regions and countries.
